Roxy - Degenerative Myelopathy |
Last October my eleven year old Mastiff Roxy began experiencing episodes of falling down, crossing her hind legs and dragging herself to get up. My first visit with Dr. Stein was to evaluate her pain situation. Roxy was given two types of medications to take for her pain. One month later, when we went back for a recheck I explained to Dr Stein she was not any better. It was at this visit Dr Stein suggested we start doing acupuncture on Roxy. Along with acupuncture, Stephanie, Dr Stein's assistant began working with Roxy on the exercise ball to build up strength in her back legs. It was after the second or third visit, that I noticed a dramatic change in Roxy. She was able to get up without dragging herself across a room, she was able to walk further than before and she was not having as many falling down episodes. I believe acupuncture has worked miracles for Roxy. She does not run around like a five year old but, she does have a better quality of life now.

After Roxy's loss due to an acute cardiac event: I am still in disbelief about Roxy's passing. It is amazing how things can change in five minutes. Anyway I just wanted to thank you again for making a difference in Roxy's life the past six months. She really did show an improvement. I am going to miss coming to see you because you are such a wealth of knowledge and it was a pleasure learning so much from you.. You are a good person with a big heart for animals, thank you for taking the time with Roxy and for being so patient with her, ( I know sometimes she wasn't the best patient). I wish you much success in the future it was a pleasure knowing you and your staff.
